Your best bet is to purchase an original harness from a Jeep Dealership. The harness is simply routed out below the light assemblies under the bumper cover and out near the hitch receiver. They could not get remote entry to work, so they ordered a part, then still would not work so ordered a new computer. Wire up the trailer plug, reinstall the taillight, replace compartment cover, spare tire, your done. I understand they can't replace the wiring harness without a symptom, but there have been lots of symptoms at this point. They have replaced the rear out put sensor at least ten times.
