I chose this restaurant for a business dinner because of its proximity to the Wardman Park Hotel. The mussels were small, cold, and both dry and drowning in a ocean hum-ho broth. Beef Tartar- first time having this and my friend and I didn't like it. This has become increasingly important to two in our party who have hearing difficulties. They where busy every night I visited.
If not, read on for more instructions. Petits Plats remains a very good bistro. Typically I do 2-entrées and 2-plats, and skip the dessert altogether. To be mentioned: a really friendly and helpful service! The desserts were disappointing, but the service attentive and good. Beef Tartar- first time having this and my friend and I didn't like it.
Would definitely come back again. Save your Euros from the famous trendy places and come to this intimate neighborhood bistro. They stop serving dinner about an hour before close, so don't expect to arrive 45 minutes before close and get a table, unless you let them know you are there for drinks only. The endive salad was bland.
All year round, best choices of meats from the well-known butcher Desnoyer. On cold days, dining next to one of the 4 wood burning fireplaces is a nice touch. The starters, entrees, and desserts changes monthly, daily for lunch. Horseradish was very strong on it though the meat appeared fresh. In the photos, is the fish of the day, which was prefect.
This restaurant came as a really nice surprise. We had a lovely evening. The food was excellent and my party of eight thoroughly enjoyed it. As others have mentioned, they specialize in small plates.
For my last dinner experience, I had the tuna tartare that was served with raspberries, which added and great sweet and tart sensation to the dish. The establishment was completely empty and they sat my friend and I in the back near the bathroom. They put us in a nice semi-private spot, and the setting too helped to make this a wonderful dinner. I have seen others complain about getting a table. I have only been disappointed in their food once in all these years.
If you're still having trouble, check out. Step inside and you will find affordable delicious food in a very romantic atmosphere. If you are not sure asked the waiters they can help you to select the best wine for the dishes you select. The food was exceptionally good. But this I mean: attention to the food and presentation, a good wine list and, most especially, an understanding that the event of dining can and should be an experience in and of itself.
The establishment was completely empty and they sat my friend and I in the back near the bathroom. You feel like you are at home, with attentive yet unobtrusive staff. I could see that if the room were filled, it could have been quite loud. It is packed on weekends you must reserve at least 2-3 days in advance. My companion said the escargot was very good and I had the soup.
I have tried five of the house wines and they are all great. Excellent food, service and ambiance. This visit, of many, however had two disappointments. But don't skip the wine. This is one of my favorite places to dine in Paris, I say keep it for the locals, but then again, I'm all about sharing. Not out of this world amazing, but quite good and a really good value for the price. Being accustomed to this, and seeing it as part of the French repertoire these days, it is making me one happy camper.
We almost thought it was going to be pizza for all. Spare yourself the attitude and go to all the other amazing restaurants in Paris that want tourist business. First impressions are fairly unprepossessing, but we were greeted really nicely and shown to a nice table. But I would recommend the restaurant and would like to try it again another time. The baguette was the perfect balance of crunchy and soft, the foie gras was outstanding, scallop seared to perfection, delicate filet, and warm and delicious creme brulee.
