Using the example of the so called pin-connector, the present paper illustrates to which degree validated finite element models of novel shear connectors can be used to substitute expensive and time-consuming shear tests and in which manner these finite element models can support the deduction of design concepts. When welding thin sheets, it can obtain small deformation weldment. For an amount of approximately 8. And aluminium based filler wires result in more ductile brazed seams, making it possible to deform such joints in a later application as tailored blanks. Positive experience with a new torch with a rotating wire feed system planetary drive , a carbon contact tube and a special shielding gas extraction or double-shell shielding gas nozzle is presented.
Therefore, an understanding of the parameters governing wetting length is required. The price of the powder material is quite expensive compared to the solid filler metal. The mechanical properties were determined by hardness testing and tensile testing. Near-net shape building and finish machining happening at the same station is the unique feature of this process. These provide the possibility for building up a fixation with composites through fibre-friendly form-closure and co-curing. Das Pin-Schweißen basiert auf dem sog. The regarded pin connector was developed for the connection of steel sections with very slender high strength concrete slabs, in which conventional shear connectors like headed studs cannot be applied due to their limited embedment depth.
Wire based additive manufacturing provides an interesting alternative to powder based processes due to their simplicity and comparatively high deposition rates. In the current research project Reisgen, 2012 , the possibilities and limits of the pin-welding process are analyzed in terms of geometry, material and heat-affection. This process was capable of achieving similar welds with 5—25% less heat delivery than the conventional short arc and can maintain the same heat delivery as a laser welding process Peltola et al. Joint surfaces of parent steel sleeves, which have cylindrical cross-sections, are modified by cylinder and ballhead pins. The energy input characteristics and the microstructure and mechanical behaviour of the joint were investigated.
Prefabricated hybrid joints are joints between a metallic part with protruding pins entangled with the reinforcement of a composite part. Subsequently, the validated models were used to perform systematic parametric studies. Arc mode plays an important role in joint characterizations of arc welding, but it has been seldom considered in laser-arc hybrid welding. In this study two strengthening methods were investigated - inter-layer cold working and post-deposition heat treatment.
This process was capable of achieving similar welds with 5-25% less heat delivery than the conventional short arc and can maintain the same heat delivery as a laser welding process Peltola et al. In this study the influence of the main process parameters, such as heat input, energy distribution, wire feed and their complex interactions are investigated. However, with a second laser beam, the melt flow can be controlled more effectively and the wetting behaviour can be improved by preheating the zinc-covered steel sheet surface. However, the potential of material mixing for lightweight construction cannot be entirely exploited because of the lack of adequate joining processes. This paper describes a process model for multilayer Ti-6Al-4V deposition using the Gas Metal Arc Welding based process of Cold Metal Transfer. In Wire and Arc Additive Manufacture an increase in productivity can be achieved through the use of high weld travel speeds. Cast metal joints were tested under uniaxial tensile loading.
Besides classical S-N curves, stiffness based analysis methods were used to better understand the failure behavior of the joints in the progress of their fatigue life. The material mixing of filler and base material, and laser penetration spiking is also influenced by the depth of the arc gouge. The paper analyses the influence of arc energy and the thermal field on the resulting mechanical properties and microstructure of the material. Thus, parameter sets with a good fitness function are more unlikely to be changed than those having a poor one.
Using the example of the so called pin-connector, the present paper illustrates in which manner validated finite element models of composite beams, considering both the shear and deformation capacity of novel shear connectors, can be used to derive the minimum degree of partial shear connection and to which extend these finite element models can be used to substitute expensive and time-consuming composite beam tests. The goal of this study was to find suitable welding parameters for a quick and economic repair of forging tools. These cross sections were analyzed geometrically, structurally, and also hardness tested. On the one hand, numerous shear tests are required in order to analyze the local shear-and deformation behavior of the innovative connectors, on the other hand, expensive composite beams tests are performed to clarify the global load carrying behavior, espedally to identify the minimum degree of partial shear connection. In this study, welds made with three different arc modes under various conditions are compared. A symmetrical transition period was added when the welding current was switched between peak value and base value. ©, 2015, Harbin Research Institute of Welding.
Cite this article as: Posch, G. The multiple repair welding was performed for hot cracking test in thick aluminum alloy plate. In addition, the brazing interface abounded with silicon. Microstructures and residual mechanical properties are discussed for selected systems in contrast to more conventional wrought and cast products.
In addition to good mechanical behaviour spatter free welds, excellent reproducing, possibility of handling the process in all kind of welding postions and good gap bridging ability are the demands of today's industry. The welds compared were made in 7 mm thick S420 laser cut steel sheets with two different welding speeds and gap sizes. Braze-welded joint between copper and steel could be achieved by laser-arc hybrid welding. Weld World 2017 61: 873. This result is achieved by changing the kinematic conditions of electrode metal transfer from the electrode tip into the molten metal pool through the arc gap.
